Drax wears his tattoos always even after not being prisoner that i think maybe they are part of his body or became?
The character is covered in full-body tattoos that represent the major events of his life. The tattoos are meant to show his life experiences, both good and bad.
In a deleted scene, Drax explains to Rocket and Groot that his tattoos and scars tell "the history of my life". The tattoos are not about his conquests, but about his family. They represent memories of his mother and father, his marriage, and the birth of his daughter.
The tattoos are vibrant red and are intended to look demonic. They are also meant to be from Drax's culture.

James Gunn has said that he's heard the Invisible Drax joke so many times that he "almost regrets" writing it in the Infinity War script in the first place. 🤣
